CFRP will once again be hosting our annual Tree Giveaway and Wellness Event to commemorate Nov. 8th! And this year we are very excited to again open it up to any of the recovering burn scar areas (Camp, Bear/North Complex, Park, etc).

You can receive trees in one of two ways:
Pre-register, pick a time slot, and come by Paradise Neighborhood Gardens to pick up a tree or two! We will be distributing between the hours of 12 PM and 4 PM.
(No early birds please-there will be PLENTY of trees to go around!).
OR
Organize a "planting partner" group to plant trees on your recovering land, in your recovering neighborhood, or at a community site. For those of you who form a group, you'll get first choice of trees (up to 5!), a planting guide and some compost! But wait, there's more!...
We're also thrilled to be hosting a Community Wellness gathering as part of the morning portion of this event. Research shows that after such a catastrophic event as the Camp Fire, self care and our health continues to need support even years later. So get some friends or family together as a Planting Group, and join us for coffee & tea, snacks, hand-crafted self care gifts, as well as some time in the burgeoning Paradise Neighborhood Gardens. Then take your lovely trees home for planting! All in all it should be a beautiful way to spend a morning.

CFRP is working alongside the Konkow Valley Band of Maidu Indians and California Open Lands as they bring this incredible offering to our Communities
Free camping will be offered at the campground, and meals will be provided by Chef Alex Zubia of Fresno-based My Homies Kitchen.
There are a limited number of spaces available. All ages are welcome to apply, with priority given to tribal communities.

The training will emphasize cultural objectives and gathering in community on the ancestral lands of the Konkow Valley Band of Maidu Indians. This is a place-based training that will focus on invasives removal, Cultural Fire, revegetation, and working with species like tule, manzanita, deergrass, and cattail. Cultural Practitioners will also be sharing workshops on topics such as soaproot brush making, baby rattles, manzanita bark poison oak treatment, and acorn granaries.
We are accepting applications until February 23, 2026, after which applications will be reviewed and acceptances sent out by Feb. 26th, 2026. Open to all ages and abilities. Space is limited to 30 participants.
